About Coaching and Mentoring with Zangmo Alexander
Mindful Creativity Coaching
We are all creative. That is our nature.
Everything we do, think and feel is creative.
Sometimes our efforts to create well-being in our life cause us more suffering than joy.
We can feel frozen, depressed, anxious, limited, frustrated and often not open - in other words, stuck.
Our creativity is frozen, unable to express itself.

Mindful Creativity Coaching with me can help you learn to be more aware, present, free and creative in all areas of life including the personal, professional and spiritual.
Your blocked energy will then be more available for authentic, deeply satisfying personal, professional expression and appreciation in all areas of daily life.

What Happens in Coaching
You can focus on any issues in which you would like to move forward. This can include personal, spiritual, creative and/or professional areas of your experience.
My role is to support you in a confidential, listening, compassionate, non-judgemental way. You set the agenda. Together we embark on a journey in which I support you in moving towards where you would like to be.
I am very experienced and offer different ways to work depending on your inclination. We can fluidly and intuitively work with a range of inspiring methods from Life Coaching, Creativity Coaching, Art Teaching, Therapeutic Art, Mindfulness and Meditation.

Sometimes we may work at a practical, nuts and bolts level, and at other times we may go deep and more subtle depending on your interests and needs. Often both are needed.

What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness practice involves learning to be aware of and pay attention to what is happening, as it is happening. This includes awareness of bodily sensations and perceptions such as seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling, moving, thinking and feeling. By becoming more aware of ourselves, we begin to notice knee-jerk reactions to situations and challenges which cause us unnecessary suffering. With practice, our minds can begin to become open to choosing new, more beneficial ways of responding.
Contrary to popular belief you do not have to be able to stop thinking in order to learn to meditate! We just need to be aware of whatever our experience is. With more practice we begin to appreciate ourselves and the world around us with more awareness, clarity, wisdom, love, joy and compassion. We make friends with ourselves and our experience.

The origins of mindfulness
While Mindfulness can be learned in a secular, non religious way, it can be useful to understand the background to mindfulness. Mindfulness meditation is an awareness practice originating 2500 years ago in Buddhist meditation practices and other spiritual traditions worldwide. For Buddhists, meditation and mindfulness is a spiritual practice which can lead to enlightenment, or the full realisation of who we are in our essence.

Buddhist meditation practices currently being researched include Calm Abiding and Insight, both of which entail practising Mindfulness. Calm Abiding involves learning to settle and focus the mind, resulting in feeling calmer, more at peace with a greater feeling of well being. With this greater focus one then has the stability and clarity to begin Insight Meditation – investigating the nature of mind and phenomena in an experiential way.

The Benefits of Mindfulness
For centuries meditators, doctors and healers in eastern traditions have found that mindfulness and meditation improve health and well-being. Recent scientific research has documented how regular meditation and mindfulness helps many health problems, including heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, insomnia, chronic pain, cancer, immune problems, stress and depression. Recently the NHS had taken Mindfulness on board.
